Welcome to Kristy's Tech ThoughtsThis is a featured page

Welcome to my site and thanks for visiting! This site actually serves a couple of different purposes. First, as Director of Instructional Technology for Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering, I constantly research and review different tools and websites that I come across. My thoughts on these tools and websites will be posted under the My Sites and Blogs link so that I can share the information easily with fellow colleagues. I will also post information from professional presentations I am a part of under the Presentations link. Secondly, as a graduate student in the Instructional Design and Technology program at the University of Memphis, I need an area that will allow me to display and share my work. You can see my student work listed under the appropriate class links in the menu on the left side of this page.

The world is rapidly changing thanks to technology. Are we as educators keeping pace with these changes? Are we creating learning experiences for our students that are both engaging and educational? Before we can create such learning experiences, we must understand our students and the world in which they live. Dr. Micheal Wesch has put together a great video that gives us a closer look at the students of today.
